GALVESTON ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIP ANNOUNCES KEITH GRAY AS INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Gray Brings More than 40 years of Experience Within Galveston County to New Role GALVESTON, TX - August 24, 2022 - The Galveston Economic Development Partnership is proud to announce that Keith Gray will lead the organization as the interim Executive Director, starting September 1, 2022. Keith Gray recently retired from CenterPoint Energy after a 40-year career, with the last 15 years serving as a Service Area Director, Director of Warehouse and Materials Management, and Director of External Engagement. His duties included overseeing union and professional employees, proactive and scheduled reliability programs, large and small restorations, supply chain management, and supporting local partner and customer relations. Working intently with the City of Galveston, he enjoyed serving the citizens and its leaders to provide the customer service and the electric utilities needed for economic growth. He is also a veteran of Hurricane Alicia, Ike, Harvey, Nicholas, and Ice Storm Uri and understands the impacts on the citizens and business owners of Galveston and its leaders during these types of events. He is excited to have another avenue to serve this Island through the Galveston Economic Development Partnership. “We are excited to have Keith Gray aboard,” remarked Keith Bassett, GEDP Board President. “He was a strong ally of the GEDP in his role with CenterPoint and we are lucky to gain someone this closely linked to our local area. His expansive knowledge of economic development in Galveston County will serve our membership so well.” Keith resides in Galveston County with his wife of 32 years, Diane.
