Greetings GCFB Nation,
In 2022 we saw the results of many acts of kindness come together to help our neighbors in the community.
Numerous children, families and seniors benefited greatly from your efforts.
In collaboration with 80+ partnering agencies, over 9 million pounds of food was provided to Galveston County residents.
That’s 7.5 million meals to the members of our community that were in need!

Together, with our united efforts throughout Galveston County, we achieved:
  • 14,759 summer meal packs for our Kidz Pacz program were packaged for children who depend on free or reduced meals at school.
  • 14,801 packs for our Backpack buddy program were distributed during the school year to help supplement during the school breaks and weekends.
  • In combination with our partnering agencies, we served 29,863 individuals monthly.
  • The Galveston County Food Bank fleet traveled an average of 65,082 miles to distribute nutritious food to those in need during 2022 at no cost to the locations and mobiles.
  • 45,251 total volunteer hours for the year.
  • During 2022, our Homebound program made 6,096 deliveries to seniors and persons with disabilities who did not have the financial means or were in poor health and cannot access pantries or mobile food sites.

Looking back on this past year, we are grateful to those who have joined us in “Leading the fight to end hunger in Galveston County”.
Let’s keep that same fighting spirit going into 2023.
We rely on the generosity of volunteers, donors, and the outstanding efforts of our partners to assist us in combatting hunger. Currently 1 in 6 Galveston County residents are experiencing food insecurity.
With your continued help, together we can build on the accomplishments of 2022 to aid our neighbors.
We are excited to see what we can achieve collectively in 2023.
Please visit our website www.galvestoncountyfoodbank.org to learn how you can make an impact on your community

Thank You for helping us continue in "Leading The Fight To End Hunger in Galveston County!"
