League City Police Department
· FIVE ARRESTED IN ORGANIZED CRIME RING LEAGUE CITY, TX (December 1, 2022):
A four-month investigation that involved more than ten law enforcement agencies led to the arrest of five suspects and the recovery of more than $500,000 worth of stolen property.
On August 10, 2022, League City Police Department investigated a storage unit burglary at Sports Shed Boat & RV Storage, 1520 Lawrence Rd.
Detectives collaborated with other local law enforcement agencies to identify the suspects involved in the burglary.
During the investigation, it was determined that multiple storage units had been burglarized with thefts from seven different states.
League City Police detectives conducted multiple search warrants recovering over $500,000 worth of stolen property, including UTV side-by-side vehicles, 4-wheelers, trailers, tools, and trucks.
The suspects were linked to at least 27 cases with five of them in League City.
In November, five suspects were arrested and charged in Galveston County.
League City Police Department worked in partnership with Galveston County Sheriff’s Office, Southeast Texas Auto Theft Task Force, Chamber County Sheriff’s Office, Kerr County Sheriff’s Office, Friendswood Police Department, and Texas Parks and Wildlife.
Investigations Bureau Captain Harold Lee stated that “detectives worked this case day and night to identify the suspects and disrupted an organized criminal enterprise that would have continued to victimize the public.
I could not be more proud of our detectives.”
