First Baptist Church of Texas City
From Our Children’s Minister, Meschel Hara: Chad and I have been remodeling our home over the last several months. It’s been quite the process! We are totally remodeling our kitchen, and I can’t wait to see it brand new! There has been so many details to think through and coordinate. I’m a big fan of details. I enjoy the process of thinking it all through and find joy in knowing that I’ve thought it all through. I love that God is also a big fan of details! I love how specific He was with Noah in building the ark and with Moses in building the tabernacle. I find joy in knowing He’s thought everything through, and I find a lot of comfort in knowing that I can put my trust in Him for that same reason. God foretold to Zechariah of the coming of our humble King 500 years before it came true. Now that’s a planner! And imagine His patience! As I reflect on Holy week and on the events that took place leading up to Jesus sacrificing His life for us, I can’t fathom the amount of love our Heavenly Father has for us that He put everything into motion, and thought it all so thoroughly through, to have a relationship with us. He promises to work everything together for our good when we put our trust in Him. I can’t wait to see what our kitchen will look like after all of the appliances finally come in, the carpenter and painter work their magic on our cabinets, and the granite fabricator makes our countertops beautiful. But all of those things are not eternal and not as important as the work that God is doing in our lives each and every day. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 4:16, “Therefore, we do not give up. Even though our outer person is being destroyed, our inner person is being renewed day by day.” God is making us beautiful with every conflict that we face. “We know that the One who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and present us with you.” 2 Corinthians 4:14
