City Of League City Government LEAGUE CITY PUBLIC WORKS CREWS RECEIVE HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM DEER PARK RESIDENT League City Public Works crews have been assisting Deer Park with cleanup following the recent EF3 tornado. This past week, additional crews were dispatched with more equipment, including a grapple truck, a Gradall excavator, and two dump trucks. On February 1, Public Works received a heartfelt email from a Deer Park resident expressing her gratitude for their debris removal efforts. Read her message below. "My husband and I have lived in the same house in Deer Park for 34 years. We love our community. The tornado hit our beloved live oak tree in our front yard, and several huge branches broke off in front of our house. My husband and I are retired, and I was recently diagnosed with cancer, so I was not able to clean up. Thanks to the kindness of neighbors, we managed to get all the debris moved to the curb in front of our house. It was heartbreaking every time we had to see the reminder—directly in front of our home—of such a difficult day. Enter the League City Public Works crew. Today they spent quite a bit of time cleaning up all of this and taking it away. I can’t tell you how nice it is to see a neighboring community like League City come to our aid here in Deer Park. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking of the goodness of people—and neighboring city government agencies—in times of extreme stress. I would be so thankful if you could relay our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone involved in this effort to help us. Goodness knows our own Deer Park Public Works Department has their hands full as it is, and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your part in assisting us in this meaningful way."
