Seawall Church is a perfect place to raise your family and find hope in your everyday life. Meet Our Pastors Catherine and I met in 2002 while I was in Bible college at Abundant Life and she was the youth pastor. Two years later we were married, and we both dove into full-time ministry in the Texas City/La Marque area. We have both worked in youth and children’s ministry over the last 15 years, and have expanded to be the executive and assistant pastors at Abundant Life. We have 3 incredible children that keep us hustling all hours of the day. Mercedes, our daughter who is 6, and Maclaren and Maverick, our twin boys who are 4. Our family is so excited to be part of the Galveston community with Seawall Church. Where We Come From Catherine has been around the ministry her entire life. Her parents, Walter and Cindy Hallam founded Abundant Life Christian Center in March of 1986 with 12 people in their living room. The church quickly grew and after several moves found a permanent home on Delany Road in La Marque. Pastors Walter and Cindy Hallam have had the chance to minister to tens of thousands of men, women, and children throughout the last 30 years. Their message of love and hope has had a huge impact on the surrounding community. It was this same message, love, and hope that spoke to me while growing up in rural southern Idaho. At 18, I moved across the country to attend the Abundant Life School of Ministry. It was there that I felt the call of God in my life to go into full-time ministry. I have worked on staff at Abundant Life for the last 17 years, working in the coffee shop, youth ministry, and care ministry, and serving as the associate pastor since 2010. In July of 2020 Pastor Hallam approached us with the idea of starting a church in Galveston. After praying about the opportunity, Catt and I felt like God was leading us in this direction. We believe that God has much to do in Galveston, and we want to be a part of it. We feel like this is an opportunity of a lifetime and we are honored and humbled to be involved.
