7 Reasons Why You Need a Piñata at Your Wedding

Wedding piñatas are one of the hottest wedding decor (and entertainment!) trends for 2022.
We know you're thinking of the party store piñatas you buy for children's birthday parties, but grown-up piñatas are happening in a big way right now.
Here are seven reasons why the wedding piñata is on our must-have list this season.
1. They make a big statement. 

Colorful and creative, guests are sure to be talking about your wedding piñata! Hang one (or two) at your reception venue to add a touch of whimsy to the reception. 

2. They're customizable. 

Pick a piñata in your wedding colors, fashion it to look like your engagement ring, or add your new monogram to it. (Our editorial director had a shiny gold diamond piñata at her brunch reception!) If you're not feeling super creative, a simple piñata in your color or a fun metallic will work. 

3. They can double as favors. 

Fill up the piñata with your favorite candy or sweet treats and give guests cute cellophane bags to fill with the favors as they fall. (Just make sure to have some pre-made favors set out for the guests who aren't as aggressive with the piñata!) 

4. They make for adorable pictures. 

We love the sweet photos of the couple holding their piñata while it's still in tact, or in action trying to break it. Just try not to accidentally hit your future spouse when you step up to take a swing!

 5. They are a fun way to get guests involved. 

So many single ladies dread the bouquet toss, but a piñata is a fun alternative that feels way more modern. 

6. They are a great option for brunch and more casual weddings. 

If you're having a morning affair or don't anticipate many guests hitting the dance floor, lawn games and a piñata are a great way to make sure everyone still has good time.
