Santa Fe Independent School District
2022 SFISD BOND – NO TAX RATE INCREASE The 2022 SFISD Bond package was developed by community members, business owners, and SFISD staff members to expand college and career training in SFISD. To meet the demand for college preparation and job skills training and ensure our facilities are safe and well-maintained, Santa Fe ISD leadership, including Superintendent Dr. Kevin Bott, worked with a volunteer citizens committee comprised of residents from across our community to develop a facilities plan that reflected the priorities of our taxpayers, families, parents, grandparents, and business owners. Over the course of numerous meetings, the committee carefully reviewed financial data, current academic programs needs and opportunities for students including college and career preparation, and capital projects throughout the district. When the analysis of our capital needs was completed by our volunteer citizens committee, they made a recommendation for a $39 million bond package to expand and improve our career and technical facilities to allow for more job skills training programs and to fund security and safety projects and capital projects that will improve the learning environment on every campus. After carefully reviewing the proposed capital program developed by the volunteer citizens committee and Dr. Bott, the Santa Fe ISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to accept their recommendation and place one proposition on the ballot. Our community will have their chance to vote on Proposition A on Saturday, May 7th. Early voting runs from April 25th through May 3rd.
