Granville’s credits on albums and records have been difficult to document as he often altered his stage name.
Music historians discovered he signed on with bands as Granville T. Hogan, Granville Hogan, G. T. Hogan, Wilbert Hogan, Wilbert G. T. Hogan, Wilbert T. Hogan, W. T. Hogan, G. Hogan, and many other similar combinations.
He’s credited with being featured on more than 60 works through the early 1990’s.
It’s not an accurate reflection, however, as many credits are attributed to other names.

#GalvestonHistory’s African American Heritage Committee is spending this year’s #BlackHistoryMonth looking at many of the music-makers that called Galveston home.
Join us throughout the month for stories on four incredible island musicians and visit https://bit.ly/3ofHNAp for 20 more stories of the island’s incredible history.
