From Our Worship Pastor, John Talley:
Thirty Years and Three Moves Later…
Thirty years ago, was the FIRST VOTE FBCTC passed to
“go west.” For multiple reasons (and possibly even God’s will and timing?) the move didn’t happen until later. Seven years ago, we moved from the Ninth Ave Campus in the main area of Texas City to the Mainland Campus on I 45. In 2019 we moved again to THIS location with the first service held outside, then a couple of years worshipping in the midst of construction dust in the Fellowship Hall. September 2020, we finally worshipped for the first time in the current Worship Center and had Bible Study in the Adult classrooms, Youth
and Children’s areas. This Sunday we will dedicate this entire facility to the Glory of God! No one could’ve envisioned a Dillard’s store becoming a church thirty years ago and we were not real sure of the outcome when we voted to make this move just a few years ago, either! We firmly believe that this location and facility is a gift from God!
Baptists are not into sainthood, but if we were, Grayson Glass and Nancy Walker would be in line! These two servants of God, in very different ways, were very impactful to our church for years. Because of their faithfulness to God and FBCTC, we have named the Baptistry in honor of Grayson and the Choir Rehearsal Room in honor of Nancy. They are classic examples of people using the gifts and talents given by God to honor Him and His church.
The day of dedication will include our 9:30am Bible Study time and 10:45am worship that includes our brass trio friends, a special time of dedication in the service and a Free Food Truck lunch afterwards!
Food Truck Meal Options Include…
Brisket & Sausage from Texas Pit Stop BBQ
BBQ Brisket Nachos from Rolling Republic BBQ
Cheeseburger & Fries from Tasty Treats and Eats
Philly Cheesesteak & Fries from Sparta Houston
Dessert from Ice Cream with a Twist
One hundred tickets per truck/meal option will be available
for you to use to get your meal. Tables and chairs will be set up in the fellowship hall and hallways for a relaxed time of dining and fellowship and the entire building will be open for you to explore.
We look forward to seeing you Sunday as we dedicate FBCTC @ 10000 Emmett F Lowry to the Lord!
